Falcons Edged by Corona del Mar, 2-1

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ soccer team saw its stellar season end after falling to visiting Corona del Mar High of Newport Beach, 2-1, in a CIF-SS Division 2 first-round match on Saturday.
Senior Lauren Graves scored the Falcons’ lone goal for the Falcons, who finished the season as Pacific League champions with a sparkling 7-0 record (10-3-1 overall).
On the season, senior Rachel Park led CV’s offense with a team-high 14 goals and four assists, senior Teleya Blunt collected seven goals and three assists, and Graves had four goals and seven assists. Senior captain Lindsey Furstenberg posted three goals and six assists, junior Allison Park tallied three goals and three assists, and junior Angelina Grigoryan tallied two goals. Senior captain Megan Parada, junior Giovana Aldaz and sophomore Adamari Polanco each recorded one goal.
