Boys’ Lacrosse: Falcons Edge Birmingham Charter in Nonleague Battle

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team lost at Village Christian High in Sun Valley 17-5 in a Gold Coast League game on April 10.
Junior Andrew Peterson recorded seven face-off wins, two ground balls and one goal, while senior Nelson Lunt contributed four ground balls and one goal. Junior Samuel Gore produced one goal and one ground ball, while juniors Christian Hudson and Charlie Allen each scored one goal. Junior Tegan Clark was credited with a pair of assists, senior Quincy Lunt registered three ground balls and one assist, and senior Xander Trinh finished with one assist and one ground ball. Senior Matthew Kubela racked up 19 saves, while freshman Griffin Barnes made six saves. Senior Michael Clark collected four ground balls, junior Jackson Roehr tallied three ground balls, and sophomore Aidan Roe-Briesewitz won two face-offs. Senior Elias Shammaa and junior Cormac Abaravich each had two ground balls, while senior Jason Yee and senior Daniel Briones each had one ground ball.
The Falcons picked up an 8-6 nonleague victory at Birmingham Charter High on April 4.
Quincy Lunt registered six ground balls, two goals and two assists, Gore finished with three ground balls, two goals and one assist, and Tegan Clark chipped in two goals and one ground ball. Junior Alec Kousherian was credited with three assists and one goal, Roe-Briesewitz contributed five ground balls, three face-off wins and one goal, and Peterson finished with eight face-off wins. Kubela and Barnes each made three saves, Abaravich collected four ground balls, and Shammaa tallied three ground balls. Roehr produced two ground balls, sophomore Wyatt Stucker, Clark, Yee, Hudson and Allen each had one ground ball, and Trinh had one assist.
Crescenta Valley (3-9 overall, 1-3 in league) will host La Cañada for a league game on April 16 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Brentwood School of Los Angeles on April 18.

GLENDALE
The Nitros lost to Oak Park 19-1 in a Coastal Canyon League game on April 9. Glendale previously secured a 12-9 victory over visiting Grace High of Simi Valley on April 4. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press by the Glendale coaching staff.
The Nitros (3-7, 1-3) will host Simi Valley for a league game on April 16 at 7 p.m. before hosting Grace High of Simi Valley on April 18.
