Girls’ Lacrosse: Nitros Bounce Back Against Chadwick

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team narrowly lost to visiting Chaminade High of West Hills 10-9 in a Mission League game on April 9 as junior Sophia Lima recorded four goals.
Junior Camden Ballard finished with two goals and one assist, junior Kylie Atzert scored two goals, and junior Kaily Kim contributed one goal and one assist.
The Falcons posted a convincing 17-6 league victory at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame on April 8.
Freshman Rori Dannerth registered seven saves, Ballard racked up six goals and one assist, and Lima tallied four goals and one assist. Junior Ashley Giboney and sophomore Julia Marriott each scored two goals, while Kim recorded one goal and one assist. Junior Maya VanLeuven chipped in one goal, while junior Hannah Yi and sophomore Zoe Chi each had one assist.
Crescenta Valley overwhelmed host Westridge School in Pasadena with a 15-3 nonleague victory on April 5.
Kim finished with four goals and three assists, while Lima registered three goals and one assist. Ballard produced two goals and one assist, while Yi scored two goals. Giboney recorded one goal and one assist, VanLeuven was credited with a pair of assists, and junior Kristyn Roh, freshman Carla Mclemore and Marriott each chipped in one goal.
Crescenta Valley (12-4 overall, 2-1 in league) will visit Village Christian High in Sun Valley for a league game on April 18 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Notre Dame on April 22.

The Nitros routed visiting Palos Verdes Chadwick 16-3 in a Prep League game on April 8. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press by the Glendale coaching staff.
Glendale (13-4, 4-0) will visit Heritage Christian High in Northridge for a league game on April 19 at 2 p.m. before traveling to La Cañada for its regular-season finale on April 22.
