Boys’ Lacrosse: Falcons Score Pair of Wins Over La Cañada

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team extended its win streak to three games after beating visiting La Cañada 11-8 in a Gold Coast League contest on April 16.
Junior Charlie Allen chipped in three goals, two ground balls and one assist, while senior David Ajemyan scored three goals and two ground balls. Junior Andrew Peterson finished with seven face-off wins, two goals, one assist and one ground ball. Senior Quincy Lunt was credited with three assists, three ground balls and one goal, while senior Xander Trinh tallied three ground balls, two assists and one goal. Sophomore Aidan Roe-Briesewitz registered 12 face-off wins and five ground balls, senior Nelson Lunt produced nine ground balls and one assist, and senior Trevor Haug made six saves. Senior Daniel Briones recorded six ground balls, senior Jackson Roehr contributed four ground balls and senior Elias Shammaa collected three ground balls. Senior Jason Yee, senior Zeth Bello and junior Cormac Abaravich each had two ground balls, while junior Alec Kousherian had one assist and one ground ball. Junior Samuel Gore scored one goal, junior Roman Lara had one assist, and juniors Christian Hudson and Roman Lara each had one ground ball.
The Falcons secured a 12-5 league victory at La Cañada on April 13.
Gore racked up four goals, two ground balls and one assist, while Allen chipped in four goals and three ground balls. Nelson Lunt contributed 10 ground balls, two goals and one assist, while Quincy Lunt finished with four ground balls, two goals and two assists. Freshman Griffin Barnes recorded 13 saves, Peterson was credited with 11 face-off wins, one assist and one ground ball, and Roe-Briesewitz won seven of eight face-off attempts. Briones and Roehr each collected three ground balls, while sophomore Wyatt Stucker was credited with two ground balls and one assist. Trinh registered one assist and one ground ball, Yee and Shammaa each produced two ground balls, and Kousherian had one ground ball.
CVHS posted an 8-1 league victory at Heritage Christian High in Northridge on April 11 as Kousherian chipped in a game-high two goals.
Roe-Briesewitz recorded six ground balls, three face-off wins and one goal, while Roehr tallied two ground balls, one goal and one face-off win. Trinh produced three ground balls and one goal, while junior Tegan Clark, Ajemyan and Gore each scored one goal. Barnes contributed 10 saves, while Nelson Lunt collected nine ground balls. Quincy Lunt registered four ground balls and two assists, while Allen and Shammaa each finished with four ground balls. Bello and Abaravich were each credited with two ground balls, while senior Jake Kim, Stucker, Kousherian and Hudson each had one ground ball.
Crescenta Valley (6-9 overall, 4-3 in league) will visit Viewpoint High in Calabasas for a league game on April 23 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Village Christian High of Sun Valley for its regular-season finale on April 25. The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on April 27 at 11 a.m.

GLENDALE
The Nitros lost at Royal High in Simi Valley 9-8 in a Coastal Canyon League game on April 11. Individual statistics were not reported to the News-Press.
Glendale (3-8, 1-4) will visit Oak Park for its regular season finale on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on April 27 at 11 a.m.
