Boys’ Lacrosse: League Matchups Cap CVHS, GHS Season

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team suffered a 17-6 Gold Coast League loss against visiting Village Christian High of Sun Valley in its regular-season finale on April 25. Individual statistics were not available before the News-Press deadline.
The Falcons lost at Viewpoint High in Calabasas 10-4 in a league game on April 23.
Junior Charlie Allen registered three goals and one ground ball, while junior Samuel Gore chipped in one goal and one assist. Senior Matthew Kubela racked up 15 saves, while freshman Griffin Barnes made five saves. Junior Andrew Peterson finished with 11 face-off wins and four ground balls, while senior Nelson Lunt recorded nine ground balls and one assist. Senior Xander Trinh and junior Alec Kousherian each collected three ground balls, senior Elias Shammaa was credited with two ground balls and one assist, and senior Quincy Lunt, junior Christian Hudson, junior Cormac Abaravich and sophomore Aidan Roe-Briesewitz each had one ground ball.
Crescenta Valley lost to visiting Brentwood School of Los Angeles 10-1 in a league game on April 18.
Peterson tallied five ground balls, eight face-off wins and one goal, while Gore and Kousherian each registered two ground balls and one assist. Barnes recorded 13 saves, while Nelson Lunt collected 10 ground balls. Sophomore Wyatt Stucker, Quincy Lunt, Trinh and Hudson each produced two ground balls, while senior Daniel Briones, senior Jackson Roehr, Abaravich and Allen each had one ground ball.
Crescenta Valley ended the regular season fourth in league with a 4-6 record (6-12 overall). The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on April 27 at 11 a.m.


GLENDALE
The Nitros suffered a 16-1 Coastal Canyon League loss at Oak Park in their regular-season finale on April 23. Glendale lost to visiting Grace High of Simi Valley 11-5 in a league game on April 18. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Glendale finished the campaign fifth in league with a 1-7 record (3-11 overall). The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on April 27 at 11 a.m.
