Glendale to Honor Roots at Armenian History Celebration

To celebrate Armenian culture, history and heritage, the city of Glendale will welcome the public to a community event at the Pacific Park Community Center on Saturday, April 13, from 1-4 p.m.
The event will feature Armenian storytime, arts and crafts, poetry reading by Glendale Poet Laureate Raffi Joe Wartanian, Armenian food by chef Ara Zada, song and dance by Lernazang Ensemble, and Nazook pastries and Armenian coffee courtesy from Urartu Coffee in Glendale.
“Armat is the word for ‘root’ in the Armenian language,” the city said on its website. “Armat event represents the shared roots of Armenian Heritage within our Glendale community. The new logo of our event features a pomegranate tree with the branches representing the people of the Armenian Diaspora in our community, growing together from the shared roots.”
The Pacific Park Community Center is located at 501 S. Pacific Ave. in Glendale.
