Glendale’s annual Verdugo Mountains 10K Trail Run & Hike returns to Brand Park on May 5 at 8 a.m.
The race proceeds go to support the Glendale Parks & Open Space Foundation, a nonprofit that supports outdoor programs in Glendale.
The annual event began in 2011 to bring runners and hikers together to conquer the Verdugo Mountains.
The course starts in Brand Park near the Doctors House and climbs the Brand Motorway.
Participants will get breathtaking views of Glendale and the San Fernando Valley from the mountain.
Registration for the event is available at my.racewire.com/event/7969. Fees are $40 per runner and include a T-shirt and finisher medal.
Located at 1601 W. Mountain St., Brand Park amenities include the Japanese Tea House, a pond and a garden and gazebo. There are also tables, chairs, tents and stage. Free parking is available; however, depending on participation levels, street parking may need to be used.
