Naghdalyan Hat Trick Powers Glendale Past Burroughs

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ soccer team routed host Burroughs High in Burbank 7-0 in its Pacific League opener on Dec. 5, as senior Edgar Naghdalyan scored a hat trick.
Junior Felix Martirosyan registered two goals, senior Kevin Anjunyan finished with two assists and one goal, and senior Hani Ahmadie tallied one goal and one assist. Senior Alejandro Nunez was credited with a pair of assists, while senior Xavier Lu had one assist.
The Nitros tied host Beverly Hills 1-1 in a nonleague game on Nov. 30. Naghdalyan scored one goal, while Anjunyan had one assist.
Glendale (2-0-1 overall, 1-0 in league) will visit Muir High in Pasadena for a league game on Dec. 12 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Arcadia on Dec. 15.


HOOVER
The Tornados lost at Arcadia 3-0 in their Pacific League opener on Dec. 5.
Hoover shut out host Village Christian High in Sun Valley 2-0 in a nonleague match on Dec. 2, as Sebastian Izaguire and Areg Gevorgyan each scored one goal.
The Tornados (3-1, 0-1) will visit Crescenta Valley for a league game on Dec. 12 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Muir High of Pasadena on Dec. 15.


CRESCENTA VALLEY
The Falcons lost at Pasadena 4-1 in their Pacific League opener on Dec. 5 as senior Grant Hovhannisyan scored one goal.
Crescenta Valley competed in the Baldwin Park Tournament, posting a scoreless tie against Diamond Ranch High of Pomona on Dec. 1 and a 1-0 loss against South Gate on Nov. 30.
Crescenta Valley (1-4-1, 0-1) will host Hoover High for a league game on Dec. 12 at 3:15 p.m. before visiting Burroughs High in Burbank on Dec. 15.
