Glendale Outlasts Crescenta Valley in League Showdown

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ water polo team defeated visiting Crescenta Valley 9-7 in a Pacific League game on Oct. 3.
David Zakaryan finished with six saves, while August Kalaba recorded two goals and one steal. Robert Lazaryan and Andrew Klujian each scored two goals, while Artin Ghazaryan, Edgar Abnussi and Aidan Fieda each added one goal.
The Nitros lost to visiting Burbank 9-6 in a league game on Sept. 28.
Zakaryan tallied nine saves, while Kalaba chipped in with two goals and one steal. Lazaryan contributed two goals while Vardges Hakobyan and Ghazaryan each had one goal.
Glendale (12-13 overall, 2-1 in league) will visit Valencia High in Placentia for a nonleague game on Oct. 9 at 3:30 p.m. before resuming league play at Muir High in Pasadena on Oct. 10.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

Crescenta Valley High School’s Daron Alexanians tallied two goals during a Pacific League game against Glendale on Oct. 3.

Aaron Choi scored three goals for the Falcons in their 9-7 Pacific League loss at Glendale 9-7 on Oct. 3. Daron Alexanians and Sebastian Rivera each added two goals for the Falcons.
CVHS previously defeated host Hoover High 11-9 in a league game on Sept. 28 as Brayden Shabani finished with three goals. Alex Movsesyan, Rivera and Choi each chipped in two goals, while Levon Babayan and Alexanians each had one goal.
The Falcons (10-9, 2-1) will visit Burroughs High in Burbank for a league game on Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Burbank on Oct. 12.

HOOVER

Hoover High School sophomore David Tarkhchyan finished with three goals during a Pacific League game Tuesday against Burroughs High.

The Tornados lost at Burroughs High in Burbank 11-9 in a Pacific League game on Oct. 3.
Sophomore David Tarkhchyan and freshman Armen Tarakhchyan each chipped in with three goals, sophomore Arthur Tarkhchyan contributed two goals and senior Andre Ambarchyan added one goal.
Hoover lost to visiting Crescenta Valley High 11-9 in a league matchup on Sept. 28.
Arthur Tarkhchyan tallied three goals, while junior Davit Harutyunyan, junior Rafael Davtyan and Tarakhchyan each scored twice.
The Tornados (8-7, 0-3) will host Arcadia for a league game on Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Pasadena on Oct. 12.
