By City News Service

A 42-year-old Northridge man was arrested on Monday in connection with the fatal shooting that took place in the 1200 block of Mariposa Street on June 23, according to the Glendale Police Department.
Officers responded to the shooting scene around 5:30 p.m. that day and found a 35-year-old man, whose name has not been released, suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It is unclear what led investigators to identify this man as the suspect, but the police said they conducted “an extensive multi-agency search.”
“No additional suspects are being sought at this time and there are no additional public safety concerns related to this incident,” the GPD said in a statement. The suspect is being held without bail.
Anyone with additional information regarding the shooting is urged to contact the GPD at (818) 548-4840. Anonymous tips can be made by calling (800) 222-8477.
