Glendale High Schools Rank Among ‘Nation’s Best’

Glendale Unified School District high schools rank among the nation’s best once again by the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best High Schools ranking.
“A great high school educates all of its students from different social and economic backgrounds, exposing them to challenging coursework on the path to graduation,” said U.S. News & World Report in an article explaining its rankings.
Selecting schools “whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores on an array of college-level exams and graduated in high proportions” are all leading factors in determining these ranks, according to the same article.
“GUSD is a dynamic, high-performing school district. Our talented teachers, classified staff and administrators work tirelessly alongside parents and community partners to prepare every student for success in college, career and life,” said Board of Education President Shant Sahakian. “I am thrilled to celebrate this accomplishment with our entire GUSD community.”
All four GUSD high schools ranked in the top third of nearly 25,000 high schools considered nationwide, with Clark Magnet High ranking in the top 1%, Crescenta Valley High in the top 3%, Hoover High in the top 19% and Glendale High in the top 34%.
“We are incredibly proud of our GUSD high schools, which rank among the nation’s best year after year,” said Superintendent Darneika Watson. “We are working together every day to foster a positive culture of learning and maximize academic outcomes for every child in our district.”
