Boys’ Lacrosse: Crescenta Valley Looks to Get Back on Track

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team lost at Hart High in Santa Clarita 16-4 in a nonleague game on Feb. 28.
Junior Andrew Peterson recorded 10 face-off wins and one goal, senior Quincy Lunt finished with two goals and one ground ball, and junior Charlie Allen tallied two ground balls and one goal. Senior Nelson Lunt registered seven ground balls and one assist, senior Matthew Kubela contributed eight saves, and freshman Griffin Barnes made four saves. Seniors Michael Clark and Jackson Roehr each produced three ground balls, while junior Samuel Gore, junior Cormac Abaravich and sophomore Aidan Roe-Briesewitz each had one ground ball.
The Falcons lost at Orange Lutheran 11-4 in a nonleague game on Feb. 27.
Gore scored two goals, Quincy Lunt registered two assists, one goal and one assist, and junior Alec Kousherian tallied two ground balls and one goal. Kubela racked up 14 saves, while Nelson Lunt produced 11 ground balls. Peterson recorded 10 face-off wins and four ground balls, while Roe-Briesewitz tallied four ground balls and three face-off wins. Roehr collected four ground balls, while senior Elias Shammaa and Clark each contributed three ground balls. Senior Daniel Briones produced two ground balls, while senior Josh Kim, junior Christian Hudson, sophomore Wyatt Stucker and Allen each had one ground ball.
Crescenta Valley lost at Brentwood School in Los Angeles 11-4 in its Gold Coast League opener on Feb. 23.
Quincy Lunt finished with two ground balls and one goal, while senior Alex Lineses, Peterson and Hudson each chipped in one goal. Nelson Lunt registered five ground balls and one assist, while Allen and Stucker were each credited with one assist. Kubela tallied 15 saves, Roe-Briesewitz recorded seven face-off wins and six ground balls, and Peterson produced three ground balls and two face-off wins. Gore contributed three ground balls, Allen collected two ground balls, and senior Xander Trinh, junior Ezra Han, Clark, Roehr and Lineses each had one ground ball.
Crescenta Valley (1-4 overall, 0-1 in league) will host Viewpoint High of Calabasas for a league game on March 7 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Heritage Christian High of Northridge on March 12.

GLENDALE
The Nitros have not played a game since losing at La Cañada in their season opener on Feb. 10.
Glendale will host Castaic for a nonleague game on March 4 at 5:30 p.m. before hosting Heritage Christian High of Northridge on March 6.
