Repair Café Opens to Residents March 9

A Repair Café will come to Montrose Library on Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event will give community members an opportunity to save their beloved household items and cherished possessions. Skilled volunteer tinkerers and stitchers, as well as other specialty repair personnel will be there to help.
Attendees will also be able to flex their own do-it-yourself skills at a special fixing table. With occasional guidance from crafty volunteers, guests will have the chance to take charge and restore their items to their former glory with their own two hands.
The Repair Café members pride themselves in fixing items and saving the environment by reducing the number of items that enter landfills. Their services are provided free of charge to members in the local community. However, attendees should be aware that although they make every effort to attempt a repair, there are some items that they may not be able to successfully restore.
Because it is a free event, the Repair Café is unable to provide any replacement parts. Thus, all repairs brought into the event must be accompanied with replacement parts already purchased and have items that would allow testing of the repair. Also, while at the Repair Café, the below items will not be accepted for repair:

  • Sewing machines
  • Cathode-ray tube televisions
  • Cellphone screens
  • Internal watch components (wristband and batteries are OK)
Additionally, items must be in clean condition in order to be repaired.
Montrose Library is located at 2465 Honolulu Ave.

The Repair Café reserves the right to refuse a repair at their own discretion and will not be liable for any damages whatsoever to items brought in for repairs.
