The city of Glendale will be hosting a free compost giveaway on March 9 at parking lot 30, located at 1255 N. Verdugo Road from 8 a.m. to noon, rain permitting.
The self-serve event encourages participants to bring their own sturdy container, shovel and gloves.
The compost is created from residents’ curbside organics recycling materials, which can then be added to plants to improve soil quality.
The next compost giveaways are scheduled for April 13, Sept. 14 and Oct. 12, 8 a.m. to noon. To request more information, email Recycle@GlendalCA.gov.
