Hoover Tops Westridge for First Win

The Glendale High School varsity girls’ water polo team lost at Peninsula High in Rolling Hills Estates 17-4 in a nonleague game on Nov. 16.
Junior Leora Freeman tallied a pair of goals, while juniors Brina Brati and Lori Libarian each scored once.
The Nitros lost to visiting Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 21-10 in their season opener on Nov. 13.
Junior Leah Gaddes, junior Armine Zelveyan and Libarian each recorded two goals, while junior Ani Ttuyan, junior Bella Grigoryan, sophomore Kenzie Durry and Brati each had one goal.
Glendale (0-2 overall) will visit Charter Oak High in Covina for a nonleague game on Nov. 27 at 5 p.m. before hosting Blair High of Pasadena on Nov. 28.


HOOVER

The Tornados defeated host Westridge School in Pasadena 12-8 in their season opener on Nov. 17. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Hoover (1-0) will visit Saint Joseph High in Lakewood for a nonleague game on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. before hosting Rowland High of Rowland Heights on Dec. 5.


CRESCENTA VALLEY

The Falcons will open the regular season at Monrovia on Nov. 28 at 3:30 p.m. Crescenta Valley will then open Pacific League action by hosting Muir High of Pasadena on Dec. 20.
