In partnership with Crescenta Valley High School’s student robotics team, Falkon Robotics, state Sen. Anthony Portantino co-hosted the inaugural 2023 Engineering Expo: “Gears, Gadgets and Goosebumps,” a public STEM-focused event for kindergarten through eighth grade families on Oct. 29. The event was a fun-filled day of engineering challenges and robot demos, and totaled more than 800 visitors, including special guests Portantino, the new GUSD Superintendent Darneika Watson, GUSD Board of Education President Jennifer Freemon, Board Clerk Ingrid Gunnell, Board member Kathleen Cross and CVHS Principal Christine Benitez.
