Falcons Slip Up Against First-Place Burroughs

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity football team lost at Burroughs High in Burbank 28-7 in a Pacific League game on Oct. 20.
Senior Jacob Deno completed nine passes for 204 yards, junior Chander Thome had four receptions for a team-best 112 yards, and sophomore Xavier Thompson made a 76-yard catch.
Senior Andranik Saryan rushed for a team-high 23 yards on three carries, while senior Bjorn Hermansen had three receptions for 14 yards and two carries for 9 yards.
The third-place Falcons (6-3 overall, 2-2 in league) hosted Arcadia for its regular season finale on Oct. 27; the league game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.
