More than 150 attendees gathered to celebrate Glendale Arts’ 15th anniversary and new home at ace/121 Gallery on Saturday, Aug. 5. Guests enjoyed the acoustic stylings of musician Luis Villegas; a display of classic film posters and props, courtesy of History For Hire, in a nod to the nonprofit’s upcoming Glendale International Film Festival; and a preview of artist Kaloust Guedel’s “The Theory of Immersion” exhibit, which will be on view at the gallery from Wednesday, Aug. 16, through Friday, Sept. 15. During a brief program, Glendale Arts Board Chair Marci DeSousa delivered remarks thanking supporters and encouraging attendees to get active in the organization’s newly launched membership program, SCENE. Jack Artan, a representative for state Sen. Anthony Portantino, and Mayor Dan Brotman were also on hand to present Glendale Arts with a Certificate of Recognition and Mayor’s Commendation, respectively, marking the nonprofit’s anniversary. - Photos courtesy Glendale Arts
