Community Clothing Swap Comes to Glendale Central Library

The city’s Office of Sustainability and Glendale Library Arts and Culture have partnered to host a back-to-school-themed community clothing swap event today, Aug. 12, at Glendale Central Library, located at 222 E. Harvard St.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants can join the clothing swap by bringing up to 10 clean and gently used clothing items to exchange, as well as hangers. Items can be dropped off at the beginning of the clothing swap.
While community members are swapping, they can also check out the Free Book Shop at the event. Additionally, tea, coffee and cookies will be available to swappers who bring a reusable cup.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Find up to 10 clean and gently used (no holes or tears) clothing items from home — like shirts, bottoms, dresses, jackets and bags.
  • Jewelry, shoes, underwear, socks or any other accessories are not accepted. But hangers are a great addition to the clothing swap.
  • Bring items to the event.
  • Participants will receive a clothing swap ticket which gives them priority access to the swap.
  • Arrive between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., show the ticket and shop. Shoppers are encouraged to take no more than the number of items that they brought to swap.
  • After noon, the clothing swap opens to the general public.

*The city of Glendale and Glendale Library Arts and Culture are not liable nor responsible for items being clean and in good condition.
