Max B. Hobbs

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Max B. Hobbs, who peacefully left this world on March 2, 2023, at the age of 82. Max was born on February 6, 1941, in Phoenix, Arizona, to his loving parents who preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patti, his two sons, Keith and Chad, daughters-in-law, Merilee and Kimera, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Max attended North Phoenix High School and later graduated with an engineering degree from Grand Canyon College. He and his wife moved to Glendale, California, in 1965 and later settled in the Santa Clarita Valley, where they lived for 22 years.
Max was an avid reader and an active participant in politics. He was involved in local, state, and national elections and had an extensive collection of political buttons and memorabilia, totaling approximately 5,000 items. Max was a dedicated employee of Pacific Bell and AT&T for 34 years, serving as a National Sales Manager until his retirement in 1994.
In addition to his passion for politics, Max was a founding and active member of VOICE, a community organization focused on preserving the environment and protecting the Verdugo mountains and hillsides. He loved spending time with his family, and his favorite pastime was being with them.
A celebration of Max’s life will be held at Eternal Valley Mortuary in Santa Clarita on April 3, 2023, from 5-9 p.m. for the viewing, and graveside service on April 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. Max will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
