Steven Crayle Phetteplace, from Auburn, Calif., passed away on November 6, 2021, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Steve was born on February 5, 1945, in Glendale, Calif., the son of William and Marjorie Phetteplace. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jan Lacey. He is now reunited with his beloved Australian Shepherd, Luka, whom he adored and missed dearly these past two years.
Steve was actively involved with Toastmasters International for more than 40 years, both in Glendale and in Auburn. He also worked as an expert witness for many years, utilizing his vast experience in the scaffolding business. He was a gifted photographer and had a very keen eye for the beauty in nature.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Phetteplace (Marilyn James), of San Diego; his sons, Daniel Phetteplace of Sparks, Nev., and Russell Phetteplace, of Roseville and his grandsons, Joshua of Sparks, Justin of Reno, Nev., and Jake of Mission Viejo, Calif, and granddaughter, Irie Etheridge (Andrew Etheridge) of Racine, Wis. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Melody Johnson of Auburn, and his former wife, Lyne Mullen of Roseville.
