Softball: Local Squads Open League Action Next Week

The Glendale High School varsity softball team lost to visiting Maranatha High of Pasadena, 14-3, in a nonleague game on Tuesday.
Junior Jazmin Combs recorded a hit and an RBI, senior Natalie Leos tallied a hit, two stolen bases and a run, and sophomore Natalie Minkler produced a double. Junior Maria Guerra had a base hit while junior Phoebe Antonio and sophomore Jade Marquez each finished with an RBI. Freshman Rachel Francis walked, stole a base and scored once, senior Desiree Guzman walked once and stole a base, and senior Carla Luna scored once.

Following the Simi Suzanne Manley Tournament this weekend, the Nitros (2-2 overall) will host Crescenta Valley High in their Pacific League opener on Tuesday, March 7, at 3 p.m. before hosting Burroughs High of Burbank on March 9.

CRESCENTA VALLEY


The Falcons have been idle since defeating Diamond Ranch High of Pomona in a tournament game on Feb. 18.
CVHS (3-1 overall) will visit Glendale for a Pacific League game on Tuesday, March 7, at 3:30 p.m.

HOOVER


The Tornados have been idle since losing to Maranatha High of Pasadena in a nonleague game on Feb. 16.
Hoover (0-2 overall) will visit Burroughs High in Burbank for a Pacific League game on Tuesday, March 7, at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Arcadia on March 9.
