Glendale College Foundation Receives GLA Award

The Glendale College Foundation was named Organization of the Year at the 2023 Glendale Latino Association Award Luncheon and Board Installation on Feb. 23 at Oakmont Country Club.
Lisa Brooks, executive director of the Glendale College Foundation, and Rick Dinger, president of the Foundation Board of Directors, accepted the award.
“Being recognized by Glendale Latino Association as the ‘Organization of the Year’ is so meaningful to the board and staff of Glendale College Foundation,” Brooks said. “Together, over the years, we have shared the goal of helping our most vulnerable students to succeed. We appreciate all that GLA has to help our Latinx students achieve their highest goals.”
Alfred Ramirez, GCC administrative dean of Continuing and Community Education, was the keynote speaker at the event.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our community, see students learn and grow, and participate in their success,” Ramirez said. “This is what GCC is all about. It was an honor to highlight developments of the Garfield Campus, and share some of the exciting programs we offer with an organization that supports education in our community.”
GLA is an organization made up of diverse members committed to creating educational excellence, civic engagement and activities that improve and contribute to the lives of Latinos in our community.
