Nitros, Falcons Collect League Victories

The Glendale High School varsity girls’ soccer team routed visiting Muir High of Pasadena, 4-0, to collect its first Pacific League win on Tuesday, as junior Alyssa Araya recorded a pair of goals.
Senior Ysabella Sanchez finished with one goal and two assists, senior Michelle Navarro registered one goal and one assist, and senior Bianca Hinojosa was credited with one assist.
The Nitros (3-7 overall, 1-4 in league) will host Burbank in a league matchup on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 3:30 p.m.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

Crescenta Valley High School senior Sofia Lopez and the Falcons edged Burroughs High in a Pacific League game this week.

The Falcons edged visiting Burroughs High of Burbank, 2-1, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.
CVHS faced a 1-0 deficit in the second half before senior Giovana Aldaz scored the tying goal on a penalty kick.
Angelina Grigoryan missed wide on a header but senior Stephanie Schaupp saved the attempt from rolling out. Schaupp knocked the ball to the 6-yard line where sophomore Misganech Teahan headed in the winning goal.
Crescenta Valley (6-5-1 overall, 4-0-1 in league) will visit Muir High in Pasadena for a league game on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 3:30 p.m.

HOOVER

Hoover High School junior Isabella Quinones and the Tornados will continue Pacific League play by hosting Pasadena on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 3:30 p.m.

The Tornados forfeited a Pacific League game against Arcadia on Tuesday. Hoover will continue league play by hosting Pasadena on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 3:30 p.m.
