Glendale and CV Get League Victories; Hoover Edged

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ soccer team routed host Muir High in Pasadena, 8-0, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.
Senior Andrey Simonyan registered two goals and one assist while junior Edgar Naghdalyan scored a pair of goals. Senior Ryan Shahbazian and junior Hani Ahmadie each finished with one goal and one assist, senior Alexander Petrossians and junior Victor Santos Mejia each tallied one goal, and junior goalie Emil Sarkisians posted his sixth shutout of the season. Junior Kevin Anjunyan was credited with a pair of assists while senior Alek Kaprielian had one assist.
The Nitros (7-1 overall, 4-1 in league) will visit Burbank for a league matchup on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 3:30 p.m.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

Crescenta Valley High School senior Adam Lorek and the Falcons improved to 11-1 overall after blanking Burroughs High of Burbank in a Pacific League match this week.

The Falcons blanked host Burroughs High in Burbank, 1-0, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday. Senior Luis Gong scored the lone goal while senior Owen Denisiu was credited with an assist.
CVHS (11-1 overall, 5-0 in league) will host Muir High of Pasadena in a league matchup on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 3:30 p.m.

HOOVER

Arcadia edged the visiting Tornados, 2-1, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press by the Hoover coaching staff.
The Tornados (2-6-2 overall, 1-3-1 in league) will visit Pasadena for a league game on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 3:30 p.m.
