CVHS Beats Hoover in League Matchup

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ basketball team defeated host Hoover, 78-41, in a Pacific League game last Friday, as senior Mikail Grigoryan racked up a team-high 19 points.
Senior Armen Yetenekian registered 11 points and four rebounds while sophomore Julius Washington finished with 11 points. Senior Sebastian Tahmasian and junior Vatche Hairapetian each poured in 10 points while senior Alex Altounian recorded five points, seven boards and three assists.
The Falcons (9-3 overall, 2-1 in league) will continue league action at Burroughs High in Burbank on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 5 p.m.

HOOVER

Hoover High School’s Jenghiz Van Patten tallied three points and 10 rebounds in a Pacific League game against Crescenta Valley last week.

The Tornados lost to visiting Crescenta Valley, 78-41, in a Pacific League game last Friday, as Justin Herrera racked up a game-high 21 points, including five 3-pointers, with two rebounds and two assists.
James Akerman poured in nine points with three boards and one steal while Aramais Melkonyan registered six points, six rebounds and three assists. Jenghiz Van Patten tallied three points, 10 boards, three assists and two blocks while Shant Zargarian scored two points. Hagop Demirjian collected two rebounds and one steal, Kyle Arakelian finished with one block and one board, and Jason Santiago had one rebound.
Hoover (3-9 overall, 0-3 in league) will continue Pacific League action by hosting Arcadia on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 5 p.m.

GLENDALE

The Nitros lost 68-54 in a Pacific League game at Pasadena last Friday. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Glendale (7-7 overall, 1-2 in league) will continue league play at Muir High in Pasadena on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 5 p.m.
