Falcons Fall to Burroughs; Nitros Sweep Burbank

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ volleyball team was swept by visiting Burroughs High of Burbank, 15-25, 21-25, 21-25, in a Pacific League match on Wednesday. Visiting CVHS previously swept Glendale High, 3-0, in a league matchup last Friday. No individual statistics were reported to the Glendale News-Press.
The second-place Falcons (19-5 overall record, 5-1 in league) are scheduled to host Pasadena High in a league matchup on Tuesday, April 12, at 3 p.m.

Glendale senior Nathan Hillyer and the Nitros improved to 2-4 in Pacific League play after sweeping visiting Burbank High.

The Nitros swept visiting Burbank High, 25-14, 25-22, 25-12, in a Pacific League match on Wednesday. Asa Yoshioka posted 11 kills, 15 assists and two aces, Ergueen Herrera finished with eight kills, nine assists and four aces, and Andrew Angelini had four blocks.

Glendale lost a nonleague match to visiting Village Christian of Sun Valley, 3-1, on Tuesday. Yoshioka tallied 13 kills, 24 assists and three aces, while Herrera notched 16 kills, 12 assists and two aces. Meanwhile, teammate Karl Paule recorded five blocks.

The Nitros were swept by Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta, 3-0, in a league contest last Friday. Yoshioka registered 11 kills and 12 assists, while Herrera tallied eight kills and nine assists
Glendale (8-10 overall, 2-4 in league) is scheduled to visit Burroughs High of Burbank in a league matchup on Tuesday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m.
