Tornados Edged by Carpinteria, 14-13

The Hoover High School varsity football team suffered its second straight loss after narrowly losing to visiting Carpinteria, 14-13, in a nonleague game last Friday.
Senior Daniel Rangel returned a 74-yard interception for a touchdown and also had three receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Junior Ethan Davis completed 9-of-15 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 44 yards on nine carries. Senior Cedric Lynum rushed for 46 yards on eight carries, while senior Andrew Torres made a pair of catches for 20 yards and rushed for 14 yards on eight attempts. Sophomore Joel Jauregui made two receptions for 35 yards, junior Joseph Dizon had a 16-yard catch, and junior kicker Daniel Baneham went 1-for-2 in PAT attempts.
The Tornados (6-2 overall) return to action for its regular season finale when they host Glendale in the annual Battle of the Bell game on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m.
