Holy Family Breaks Ground on Parish Center

After many years of planning, the Holy Family Catholic Community in Glendale recently held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, Feb. 25, for the construction of their new parish center.

Since 2008, under the leadership of Father Jim Bevacqua, with the encouragement of Bishop Gerald Wilkerson, Holy Family began researching, fundraising and developing a master plan which would improve the grounds of their growing Catholic community.

“It takes a village, lots of listening, community buy-in and a few miracles to be able to move forward with this project,” Bevacqua said. “The 12,000-square-foot parish center will house a conference center, ministry meeting rooms, a food pantry and the parish offices.”

Glendale Mayor Pauline Devine praised the expansion, which will offer “a space for activities and families which serve the community for generations to come.”
