Boys’ Tennis: Crescenta Valley Too Much for Glendale, Hoover

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ tennis team defeated Hoover High 15-3 in a Pacific League match on April 2.
No. 1 singles player Ethan Kim swept with scores of 6-3, 6-4 and 7-5. No. 2 Sean Yusin won a set, 6-3, while alternate Aiden Kim added a 6-2 and 7-5 victory to complete the sweep. The No. 1 doubles team of Dylan Kim and Jaidyn Finley won a pair of sets with identical 6-1 scores. Easan Hamkins rotated with Finley, and the new duo added a 6-0 victory to complete the sweep. The No. 2 tandem of Hochan Lee and Daniel Lee won a pair of sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-1, while alternates Caleb Kook and Justin Kim added a 6-0 victory to complete the sweep. The No. 3 pairing of Matthew Park and Kevin Cho won two sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-1, while alternates Dobin Chung and Stephen Jung added a 7-6 (7-5) victory to complete the sweep.
The Falcons lost at Flintridge Prep in La Cañada Flintridge in games, 9-9 (72-61), in a nonleague match on April 1.
The No. 1 doubles team of Dylan Kim and Hamkins swept with scores of 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3, while the No. 3 tandem of Daniel Lee and Hochan Lee also swept with scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 7-5. The No. 2 duo of Ethan Kim and Joshua Kook won a pair of sets with scores of 6-2 and 7-5, while alternates Cho and Park added a 6-0 victory to complete the sweep.
Crescenta Valley posted a 16-2 league victory at Glendale on March 28.

The No. 3 team of Caleb Kook and Justin Kim won a pair of sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-3, while alternates Jung and Chung added a 6-1 victory to complete the sweep.
Crescenta Valley (8-5 overall, 5-2 in league) will visit Pasadena for a league match on April 9 at 3:45 p.m. before traveling to Burroughs High in Burbank on April 11.

HOOVER
The Tornados lost to visiting Crescenta Valley High, 15-3, in a Pacific League match on April 2.
No. 1 Alec Avedisian, No. 2 Daniel Shakaryan and No. 3 Sargis Vardanyan each won a set with identical 6-1 scores.
Hoover suffered a 17-1 league loss against visiting Burroughs High of Burbank on March 28, as No. 1 Avedisian won a set with a 6-4 score.
The Tornados (2-7 in league) will host Arcadia for a league match on April 9 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Pasadena on April 16.

GLENDALE
The Nitros lost to visiting Crescenta Valley High, 16-2, in a Pacific League match on March 28. No. 1 Lazar Ratkovic won both sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-3.
Glendale (0-9 overall, 0-8 in league) will visit Burroughs High in Burbank for a league match on April 9 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Burbank on April 11.
