Softball: Mulcahey Tosses Perfect Game in Falcons Win

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity softball team defeated visiting Hoover High 15-0 in a Pacific League game on March 14. Freshman Chloe Mulcahey, who went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles at the plate, pitched a four-inning perfect game while striking out 11 of the 12 batters she faced.
Junior Mila Reddy went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and three RBIs, while junior Hannah Wyroski went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two RBIs and two runs. Junior Jasmine Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while sophomore Kate Barnes went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Junior Alexa Johnson went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs, senior Jaiden Sabelis went 2-for-4 with three runs, and senior Ariel Beltran went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Senior Anais Ochoa registered a double, three RBIs and a run, while senior Perri Derian tallied a base hit.
The Falcons (6-6 overall, 2-0 in league) will host Glendale for a league match on March 26 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting Pasadena on March 28.

HOOVER
The Tornados were no-hit in a 15-0 Pacific League loss at Crescenta Valley High on March 14 as junior captain Evelyn Ortiz pitched 3 1/3 innings.
Hoover (5-4, 0-2) will host Burroughs High in Burbank for a league game on March 26 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Arcadia on March 28.

GLENDALE
The Nitros lost to visiting Muir High of Pasadena 15-0 in a Pacific League game on March 14.
Junior Natalie Minkler pitched five innings with nine strikeouts, sophomore Rachel Francis tallied a base hit and sophomore Loraly Cano reached base on a hit-by-pitch.
Glendale (5-9, 0-1) will visit Crescenta Valley High for a nonleague game on March 26 at 3:45 p.m. before traveling to Burroughs High in Burbank on March 28.
