Glendale ‘Fares Well’ Amid Record-breaking Rainstorm

City Manager Roubik Golanian discussed the major storm that resulted in record-breaking levels of rainfall beginning last Saturday and persisting into this week, emphasizing that L.A. County issued a state of emergency during the incident.
“Luckily, I’m happy to report that we fared pretty well compared to other cities in the region and in the state,” he said at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
“I want to give a shoutout to our GWP electric crews who worked around the clock to ensure that all the power outages were restored in a timely manner, as well as to our forestry and street maintenance crews that again worked around the clock to ensure that all the broken, damaged and fallen trees and limbs were immediately cleared from public right of way and sidewalks and streets,” Golanian said.
