Glendale Wins Sixth Straight Game

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ soccer team won its sixth consecutive game with a convincing 3-1 Pacific League victory at Arcadia on Jan. 23.
Freshman Marlon Saravia recorded one goal and one assist, seniors Edgar Naghdalyan and Kevin Anjunyan each scored one goal, and senior Victor Santos Mejia and junior Tony Torosyan each finished with one assist.
The Nitros picked up a 3-1 league victory over Muir High of Pasadena on Jan. 19.
Torosyan registered two goals and one assist, senior Hani Ahmadie chipped in one goal, and Anjunyan was credited with one assist.
First-place Glendale (11-1-2 overall, 10-1 in league) will visit Crescenta Valley High for a league game on Jan. 30 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Hoover High for its regular-season finale on Feb. 1.

CRESCENTA VALLEY
The Falcons won their third consecutive game after shutting out visiting Burroughs High of Burbank 1-0 in a Pacific League match on Jan. 23 as junior Solemon Alveno-Donofrio scored the deciding goal.
Crescenta Valley blanked host Hoover High 2-0 in a league matchup on Jan. 19, as senior Grant Hovhannisyan and junior Leon Einhaus each tallied one goal.
The Falcons (6-8-1, 6-5) will host Glendale for a league match on Jan. 30 at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Arcadia for their regular-season finale on Feb. 1.

HOOVER
The Tornados lost at Muir High in Pasadena 4-1 in a Pacific League match on Jan. 23 after previously losing 2-0 against visiting Crescenta Valley High on Jan. 19. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Hoover (5-7-2, 2-7-2) will host Burbank for a league match on Jan. 30 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting Glendale for its regular-season finale on Feb. 1.
