One Glendale to Host Volleyball Championship

Community Services and Parks invites the community to the One Glendale After School Youth Sports Program’s Volleyball Season Championship on Friday, Jan. 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Pacific Community Center.
Hundreds of spectators are expected to attend both the consolation game and championship game and cheer for the program’s participants.
The One Glendale After School Youth Sports Program is a collaboration between the city of Glendale’s Community Services and Parks Department and the Glendale Unified School District, with sponsorships from USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, Positive Coaching Alliance, and the Glendale Parks and Open Space Foundation. Additional support is provided by Glendale Community College, California State University, Northridge and the Glendale Police Department.
One Glendale is designed to provide after-school sports programming to youth in eight South Glendale schools in the fourth and fifth grades and offers four sports over the course of four seasons: flag football, volleyball, basketball and soccer. Each season lasts eight weeks with a championship game at the conclusion of each season.
The Pacific Community Center is located at 501 S. Pacific Ave. in Glendale.
