The Jewel City Concert Series is a festive outdoor concert series taking place in the fall on the Artsakh Paseo, located in Glendale’s Downtown Arts and Entertainment District. Performances are scheduled for Saturdays in October from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and music ensembles must perform one set that is 60 minutes in duration. Performance groups will receive a stipend of up to $1,200 per performance. The Paseo is situated close to Brand Boulevard, The Americana and Glendale Galleria. Shoppers and visitors to the local businesses make up the majority of the audience. The Jewel City Concert series is supported by the city of Glendale and the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, with funding from the Urban Art Program.
The Brand Summer Music Series is an outdoor concert series located on the hillside area behind the Brand Library & Art Center. Performances are scheduled for Fridays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and music ensembles must perform one set that is 90 minutes in duration. Performance groups will receive a stipend of up to $1,700 per performance. Concert attendees often bring their own chairs and picnic amenities and sit on the grassy hill near the performance location. The Brand Library Plaza Series began in 2014 and is supported by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, through funding from the Urban Art Program, with support from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, Glendale Community Services and Parks, and the Brand Associates.
