Nitros, Tornados Off to Unbeaten Start

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ soccer team picked up a season-opening 5-1 victory at Blair High in Pasadena on Nov. 27 as senior captain Vedi Hadade scored two goals.
Senior Kevin Anjunyan finished with two assists and one goal, while seniors Edgar Naghdalyan and Hani Ahmadie each tallied one goal and one assist. Senior Xavier Lu was credited with one assist, while senior goalie Emil Sarkisians saved a penalty kick.
Glendale (1-0 overall) will open Pacific League action at Burroughs High in Burbank on Dec. 5 at Baldwin Park 3:45 p.m. before hosting Burbank on Dec. 8.


HOOVER

The Tornados blanked visiting Northridge Academy 3-0 in a nonleague match on Nov. 27. Hoover picked up a narrow 3-2 season-opening victory at Wiseburn Da Vinci in El Segundo on Nov. 22. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
The Tornados (2-0) will open Pacific League action at Arcadia on Dec. 5 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Pasadena on Dec. 8.


CRESCENTA VALLEY

The Falcons were shut out at Baldwin Park 1-0 in a nonleague match on Nov. 29. Crescenta Valley also lost at Hart High in Santa Clarita 3-1 in its season opener on Nov. 27. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Crescenta Valley (0-2) will open Pacific League action at Pasadena on Dec. 5 at 3:45 p.m. before hosting Muir High of Pasadena on Dec. 8.
