Glendale Earns Pair of Convincing Victories

The Glendale High School varsity girls’ water polo team routed visiting Blair High of Pasadena 28-1 in a nonleague game on Nov. 28, as juniors Armine Zelveyan and Jasper Starr each scored five goals.
Juniors Inessa Khajehgian and Brina Brati each finished with four goals, while junior Leora Freeman registered three goals. Junior Lori Libarian tallied two goals, while senior Talin Tatos, junior Bella Grigoryan, junior Leah Gaddes, sophomore Kenzie Durry and sophomore Lori Torosyan each had one goal.
The Nitros picked up a convincing 19-4 nonleague victory at Charter Oak High in Covina on Nov. 27, as Freeman and Brati each contributed five goals.
Junior Ani Ttuyan, Durry and Starr each chipped in two goals, while Libarian, Zelveyan and Gaddes each scored one goal.
Glendale (2-2 overall) will host La Cañada in a nonleague game on Dec. 6 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Marlborough High of Los Angeles on Dec. 14.


HOOVER

The Tornados have been away from the pool since their season-opening victory over Westridge School of Pasadena on No. 17. Hoover (1-0) will host Rowland High of Rowland Heights for a nonleague game on Dec. 5 at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Walnut on Dec. 11.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

The Falcons will open the regular season at Monrovia on Dec. 7 at 3:30 p.m. Crescenta Valley will then open Pacific League action by hosting Muir High of Pasadena on Dec. 20 at 3:45 p.m. before visiting Glendale on Jan. 4.
