Hoover, CVHS Swimmers Go to CIF Finals

The Crescenta Valley and Hoover high schools’ varsity girls’ and boys’ swim and dive teams recently sent individuals to compete in the CIF-Southern Section Division I, II and IV finals.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

The CVHS girls’ team competed in Division I and collected 77 points. Hojung Yoon finished third in the girls’ 200 individual medley with a 2:01.34 time while also placing third in the 100 backstroke with a 55.19 time. Chloe Addiego was ninth in the girls’ 50 freestyle with a 24.17 time while also taking ninth in the 100 butterfly with a 56.34 time.
The CVHS boys’ team competed in Division II and posted 25 points. The boys’ relay team of Evan Yi, Michael Petersen, Dylan Wee and Alex Movsesyan finished 13th in the 200 medley with a 1:39.10 time. Petersen (59.73) and Wee (1:00.05) were 12th and 13th, respectively, in the boys’ 100 breast.

HOOVER

The Hoover girls’ team competed in Division IV and tallied 52 points. Adriana Harutyunyan was fifth in the 200 IM with a 2:29.47 time while also placing 13th in the 100 fly with a 1:08.79 time.
The relay team of Gunnar Sumner, Ellysee Baker, Leah Gomez and Harutyunyan placed 11th in the 400 free with a 4:16.99 time. The relay team of Sumner, Baker, Gomez and Harutyunyan finished 12th in the 200 free with a 1:55.52 time.
