Falcons, Nitros, Tornados Compete in CIF Prelims

Crescenta Valley, Glendale and Hoover high schools recently competed in the CIF-Southern Section track and field prelims.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

The Falcons competed in the CIF Division I prelims at Trabuco Hills High in Mission Viejo.
Parker Simmons won the boys’ 3,200 meters with a 9:08.12 time while Eddie Sion (9:29.96) and Harrison Connors (9:51.94) placed 19th and 34th, respectively.
Emilia Greenway finished 17th in the girls’ 1,600 with a 5:16.56 time while also placing 21st in the 3,200 with an 11:33.30 time. Kaitlin Kenney (2:22.72) claimed 27th in the girls’ 800, Calix Jamerson (19-08.75) finished 33rd in the boys’ long jump and Jamie Cartnal (4:31.24) was 46th in the boys’ 1,600.

GLENDALE

The Nitros were represented by Alexa Nagasawa in the CIF Division I prelims at Trabuco Hills High in Mission Viejo. She finished 32nd in the girls’ 400 with a 1:01.85 time.

HOOVER

The Tornados competed in the CIF Division III prelims at Yorba Linda.
Katherine Coppersmith was 15th in the girls’ 400 with a 1:02.11 time while also taking 23rd in the long jump with a 15-02.00 mark. Emma Canal placed 15th in the girls’ 3,200 with an 11:45.61 time while Javon Lymon (37-05.25) was 24th in the boys’ triple jump.
