CVHS Beats GHS in League Action

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team defeated host Glendale, 14-2, in a Gold Coast League game last Thursday.
Sophomore Tegan Clark registered three goals, one assist and one ground ball while junior Alex Lineses tallied three goals and one ground ball. Senior Damien Valdez finished with two goals, two assists and three ground balls, senior Ethan Sheklow had two goals and six ground balls, and senior Jake Monougian scored two goals with one ground ball.
Sophomore Samuel Gore recorded one goal, one assist and two ground balls while sophomore Ephram Wright produced one goal, one assist and one ground ball. Senior captain Anthony Gharapetian and junior Quincy Lunt each collected two assists and two ground balls, junior Nelson Lunt was credited with an assist and three ground balls, and senior Dayton Wickerd had two shots on goal. Junior goalie Matthew Kubela made eight saves while senior Parker Trillo posted four ground balls. Senior Kellar Black, junior Xander Trinh, junior Elias Shammaa and junior Daniel Briones each had two ground balls while senior Jared Monougian and sophomore Josiah Noh each had one ground ball.
The third-place Falcons (12-6 overall, 9-2 in league) recently concluded the regular season by hosting Brentwood School of Los Angeles; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released today at 11 a.m.

GLENDALE

The Nitros recently suffered a pair of Gold Coast League losses to Brentwood School in Los Angeles, 12-5, and Crescenta Valley, 14-2. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press by the Glendale coaching staff.
Seventh-place Glendale (2-15 overall, 1-10 in league) recently visited Heritage Christian High in Northridge for its regular-season finale; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
