CVHS Beats Glendale; Hoover Loses at Burroughs

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ tennis team defeated host Glendale, 14-4, in a Pacific League match on Tuesday as the Falcons’ doubles squads swept.
The No. 1 team of Daniel and Ryan Lee (6-1, 6-1, 6-0) and the No. 2 tandem of Joshua Kook and Hochan Lee (6-0, 6-0, 6-0) each swept. The No. 3 duo of Easan Hamkins and Zachariah Loppnow won a pair of sets, 6-4, 6-0, before alternating with Caleb Kook and Matthew Park, who completed the sweep with a 6-1 victory. No. 1 singles player Ethan Kim won a pair of sets, 6-4, 6-0 while No. 3 Jihyoung Park won a set, 6-4. No. 2 Dylan Kim won a set, 6-3, before alternating with Alessandro Escos, who picked up a 6-1 win.
The Falcons will visit Burroughs High in Burbank for a league match on Tuesday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Burbank on April 13.

GLENDALE

The Nitros lost to visiting Crescenta Valley High, 14-4, in a Pacific League match on Tuesday.
No. 2 singles player Lazar Ratkovic swept, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, while No. 1 Chris Krajian won a set, 6-1.
Glendale will visit Burbank for a league match on Tuesday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Arcadia on April 13.

HOOVER

The Tornados lost at Burroughs High in Burbank, 15-2, in a Pacific League matchup on Tuesday as No. 1 singles player Alec Avedisian (6-1) and No. 2 Albert Poghosyan (6-2) each won a set.
Hoover will visit Pasadena for a league matchup on Thursday, April 13, at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Crescenta Valley High on April 18.
