CV Competes in Vegas

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ volleyball team recently competed in the Las Vegas Invitational and finished with a 4-4 record after losing its tournament finale against Salpointe Catholic High of Tucson, Arizona, 25-22, 25-20.
The Falcons collected victories against Campo Verde High of Gilbert, Arizona, 25-19, 25-22, Ramona, 25-17, 25-17, Green Valley High of Henderson, Nevada, 22-25, 28-26, 15-9, and Silverado High of Las Vegas, Nevada, 25-22, 25-17, on the second day of the tournament.
CVHS opened the tournament with three consecutive losses against Mojave High of North Las Vegas, Nevada, 25-21, 21-25, 15-10; Palo Verde High of Las Vegas, Nevada, 25-21, 25-20; and American Leadership Academy of Gilbert, Arizona, 19-25, 25-17, 15-13.
Crescenta Valley previously swept host La Cañada, 25-17, 25-12, 25-19, in a nonleague match. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
The Falcons (12-6 overall) will host Pasadena for a league match on Wednesday, March 22, at 3:30 p.m.

GLENDALE

The Nitros swept host Firebaugh High in Lynwood, 26-14, 25-20, 25-19, in a nonleague match last Friday. Glendale previously lost a nonleague match against visiting Maranatha High of Pasadena, 27-25, 25-18, 25-23. Individual statistics were not reported to the Glendale News-Press.
The Nitros (9-2 overall) will host Castaic in a league nonleague matchup on Monday, March 20, at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Muir High in Pasadena on March 21.
