Falcons Drop CIF Opener Against Marina, 5-0

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ soccer team was ousted from the CIF-Southern Section Division III playoffs after losing at Marina High in Huntington Beach, 5-0, on Wednesday.
The Falcons previously ended the regular season with a scoreless draw at Arcadia in a Pacific League matchup.
CVHS concluded the campaign as league runners-up with an 11-0-3 record (13-5-3 overall) and will look to return to the postseason next year.

GLENDALE

The Nitros edged visiting Hoover, 2-1, in their season finale last Thursday. Seniors Michelle Navarro and Bianca Hinojosa each scored once while junior Alyssa Araya was credited with one assist.
Glendale finished the season fifth in the league standings with a 6-7-1 record (8-10-1 overall).

HOOVER

The Tornados lost at Glendale, 2-1, in their Pacific League and regular-season finale last Thursday. Individual statistics were not reported by the Hoover coaching staff.
Hoover concluded the campaign sixth in the standings with a 3-9-2 record (8-10-4 overall).
