Nitros, Falcons Blank League Opponents

The Glendale High School varsity boys’ soccer team blanked visiting Burbank, 3-0, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday as junior goalie Emil Sarkisians posted his 11th shutout of the season.
Senior captain Andrey Simonyan, junior Hani Ahmadie and junior Edgar Naghdalyan each scored once while senior Ryan Shahbazian and junior Victor Santos Mejia were each credited with one assist.
The second-place Nitros recently visited eighth-place Hoover High for its regular-season finale; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released Saturday at 9 a.m.

Crescenta Valley High School senior Nicholas Farhadian and the Falcons are first in the Pacific League standings.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

The Falcons routed host Muir High in Pasadena, 4-0, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday. Senior Owen Denisiu racked up a hat trick while senior Matt Sheen scored once.
League champion CVHS recently hosted fourth-place Arcadia for its regular-season finale; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released Saturday at 9 a.m.

HOOVER

Hoover High School junior Narek Kapetyan and the Tornados are eighth in the Pacific League standings with a 2-10-1 record.

The Tornados were shut out in a pair of Pacific League games against Pasadena, 5-0, and Burbank, 2-0.
Eighth-place Hoover (4-16-2 overall, 2-10-1 in league) recently hosted second-place Glendale for its regular-season finale; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
