Falcons, Nitros, Tornados Collect League Victories

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ soccer team routed visiting Muir High of Pasadena, 5-0, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.
Senior Angelina Grigoryan recorded a pair of goals, freshman Kira Lee finished with one goal and one assist, and senior Giovana Aldaz and senior Sofia Lopez each scored once. Senior Allison Park tallied two assists while freshman Madyson Armstrong had one assist.
The Falcons previously blanked host Glendale in a league matchup, 4-0. Lee produced two goals, Aldaz and Park each scored one goal, and juniors Ella DeKruyf and Mia Pulido each had one assist.
CVHS (13-5-2 overall, 11-0-2 in league) recently visited Arcadia for a crucial league matchup with a chance to secure an outright league title; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
The CIF-Southern Section playoff brackets will be released today at 10 a.m.

Glendale High School senior Kacy Puno had one assist to help the Nitros defeat Burbank in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.

The Nitros defeated host Burbank, 3-1, in a Pacific League game on Tuesday.
Senior Ysabella Sanchez and junior Alyssa Araya each registered one goal and one assist while senior Brianna Diaz scored once. Senior Riley Milward posted five saves while junior Amelia Knur made a pair of saves. Senior Kacy Puno was credited with one assist while senior Bianca Hinojosa and sophomore Yeraz Kassabian each took one shot.
Glendale was previously shut out by powerhouse Crescenta Valley in a league matchup, 4-0. Senior Angela Krikorian, senior Michelle Navarro and Sanchez each took one shot.
The fifth-place Nitros (7-10-1 overall, 5-7-1 in league) recently hosted sixth-place Hoover for a league contest; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.

Hoover High School sophomore Violet Isavi and the Tornados are sixth in the Pacific League.

HOOVER

The Tornados lost a Pacific League game at Pasadena, 3-1, on Tuesday. Hoover previously blanked visiting Burbank, 2-0, in a league matchup. Individual statistics were not reported by the Hoover coaching staff to the Glendale News-Press.
The sixth-place Tornados (8-9-4 overall, 3-8-2 in league) recently visited fifth-place Glendale for a league contest; the game ended after the Glendale News-Press’ deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
