Falcons, Tornados Represented at CIF Finals

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity cross-country teams competed in the CIF Southern Section Division I finals at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut last Saturday.
The boys’ team had a fine outing, finishing the 3-mile race fourth overall with 150 points en route to qualifying for the CIF-SS State meet this coming Saturday, as senior Parker Simmons led the team by placing third with a 15:00.4 time. Senior Harrison Connors (15:46.7) finished 34th while senior Jamie Cartnal (15:56.4) and junior Eddie Sion (15:59.4) placed 44th and 46th, respectively. Sophomore Liam Zadoorian (16:07.6) was 55th, while junior Joshua Chambers (16:12.9) and junior Ryan Becker (16:57.3) rounded out the group in 60th and 93rd, respectively.
Meanwhile, the girls’ team finished 14th overall with 309 total points and did not qualify for the CIF-SS State meet. Sophomore Emilia Greenway led the team by placing 18th with an 18:32.0 time, while senior Emma Haworth (19:49.0) and sophomore Madeline Cho (20:05.2) finished 56th and 69th, respectively. Junior Samantha Talbot (20:49.1) was 97th, while senior Julia Linney (20:56.2) and junior Anthea Perez (21:08.9) rounded out the group in 100th and 107th, respectively.

HOOVER

Hoover High School sophomore Emma Canal represented the Tornados as their lone participant at the CIF Southern Section Division III finals. She finished the 3-mile race 16th overall with a 19:03.4 time.
