First published in the April 16 print issue of the Glendale News Press.

Ascencia’s 14th annual “Share the Love” gala, which took place on Saturday, April 2, at City Club L.A. was the Glendale-based homeless outreach nonprofit’s first fully in-person gala since 2018.
There were 245 guests, including community supporters, civic leaders, friends and family of Ascencia board members and staff, and other generous Angelenos. David L. Ho, Jr., of Pacific BMW and the S.H. Ho Foundation, was the event’s presenter. Civic Leaders who supported and/or attended included Glendale Mayor Ardy Kassakhian, state Sen. Anthony Portantino, Assemblywoman Laura Friedman, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Los Angeles Councilwoman Nithya Raman.

Ascencia Executive Director Laura Duncan presents Terry Walker and Brian Helleland with the Ambassador of Hope Award, on behalf of Providence St. Joseph Health.

Preliminary estimates indicate that Ascencia raised more than $200,000 from the gala.
Ascencia honored Providence St. Joseph Health with its Ambassador of Hope Award, for being an organization that has gone above and beyond this past year, and Zacarias Cervantes with its Hope and Compassion Award, for his commitment and dedication to service with Ascencia.
