Falcons, Nitros Each Defeat Pasadena in League Matches

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ volleyball team remained undefeated in Pacific League play after collecting wins over Pasadena and Arcadia.
The visiting Falcons improved to 4-0 in league (18-4 overall record) after defeating Pasadena, 25-19, 25-15, 19-25, 25-16, on Wednesday. CVHS previously swept visiting Arcadia, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21, on Friday, March 25. No individual statistics were reported to the Glendale News-Press.
The Falcons are tied atop the league standings with Burroughs High of Burbank and are scheduled to host the first of two matchups with the Bears on Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m.

GLENDALE

The host Nitros were swept in a Pacific League match by a formidable Burroughs High squad, 12-25, 20-25, 20-25, on Wednesday. Senior Asa Yoshioka collected eight kills and 12 assists, while junior Ergueen Herrera registered five kills. Freshmen Quan Tran and Tad Whiting each had three blocks.
Visiting Glendale previously swept Pasadena, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18, in a league matchup last Friday. Yoshioka led with 15 kills, 16 assists and two aces, while Herrera added nine kills and eight assists.
The Nitros (7-8 overall, 1-3 in league) are scheduled to host Village Christian of Sun Valley in a nonleague match on Tuesday, April 5, at 3:30 p.m.
