CV’s Win Streak Snapped in Narrow Loss

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team had its season-best five-game win streak snapped after being edged at Chaminade High in West Hills, 12-11, in a nonleague game on Wednesday.
Junior captain Brianne Ballard led with two goals and three assists, while junior Shari Park added a pair of goals and two assists. Junior captain Brianne Ballard tallied two goals, junior captain Haylen Molina finished with one goal and two assists, and senior Ashlyn Burton, senior Kaisa Lindman Marshall and junior Sophia Kachkeran each scored once.
The Falcons earned an 18-3 blowout victory over visiting Saugus in a nonleague matchup last Friday. Brianne Ballard had one goal and six assists, while Molina produced four goals and one assist. Senior Bless Berelc and freshman Camden Ballard each registered a hat trick. Senior Yvalisse Ganzon and Park each posted two goals, Lindman Marshall, senior Ashlyn Burton and freshman Kaylani Parker each recorded two goals, and senior Nour Shammaa was credited with an assist.
Crescenta Valley (9-5 overall record) is scheduled to host El Camino Real High of Woodland Hills on Saturday, April 9, at 11 a.m., ahead of its league opener at La Cañada the following week.

GLENDALE

The Nitros collected their second straight victory by downing visiting West Ranch High of Valencia, 15-12, in a nonleague game on Tuesday. No individual statistics were reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Glendale (5-6-1 overall) is scheduled to host Royal High of Simi Valley in a nonleague game on Friday, April 8, at 4 p.m.
