Falcons’ 8-Game Win Streak Snapped in 9-7 Setback

The Crescenta Valley High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team had its eight-game win streak snapped after losing for the first time this season to visiting Anaheim Canyon, 9-7, in a nonleague game on Tuesday.
CVHS senior attacker Henry Kaufman collected a pair of goals and six ground balls. Sophomore Quincy Lunt each posted two goals, while senior attacker Nathan Kilgore, senior midfielder Mason Daly and junior midfielder Damian Valdez each scored once. Senior defender Easton Caneva and senior midfielder Ryan Chi tallied seven and four ground balls, respectively, while senior goalie Hayden Lunt produced a season-high 15 saves.
The visiting Falcons (8-1 overall record) previously edged Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 10-9, in a nonleague game last Friday as Hayden Lunt tallied 13 saves in the cage. Daly posted a hat trick and two assists, while Kilgore registered three goals and five ground balls. Senior attacker Ezra Suh recorded two goals, an assist and three ground balls, and Chi was credited with an assist and two ground balls. Caneva amassed 12 ground balls, a goal and an assist, junior midfielder Ethan Sheklow was credited with eight ground balls, and Quincy Lunt and senior defender Dylan Valdez finished with five and four ground balls, respectively.
Crescenta Valley is scheduled to visit Newhall Hart in a nonleague encounter on Tuesday, March 29, at 3 p.m.

GLENDALE

The Nitros lost their Gold Coast League opener at Calabasas Viewpoint, 18-5, on Tuesday. No individual statistics were reported to the Glendale News-Press.
Glendale (2-5 overall, 0-1 in league) is scheduled to visit Simi Valley in a nonleague game on Wednesday, March 30, at 7 p.m.
